At abcd studio, a line is never just decoration. Designer Zhang Xiaoyu treats it as a structural language — one that defines proportion, divides surface, and shapes the rhythm of an object.
The Line Work series is this idea made tangible. Shifts in density, spacing, and direction trace something between an architectural facade, a city map, and a spatial grid across the ceramic surface. Colors, weights, and directions intersect — as if order, memory, and daily traces had been reassembled into a new code.
From the bright contrasts of Spectrum to the geometric cuts of Block to the abstract compositions of Fragments — each sub-series is a fresh reading of the same linear language.
Zhang envisions abcd studio as a space for infinite creative possibility — not just a ceramics studio, but an experimental brand exploring how form becomes language, how design generates a new sense of the world. Creation need not be bound to one style. It can grow like an alphabet: starting from its simplest elements, extending, combining, evolving.
